Dessie Spasov

Dessie has thirteen years of experience in various aspects of the financial services industry, which allows her to develop strategies to help solve client problems quickly and thoroughly. She has a lot of respect for the idea of independence and loves helping clients work toward their own financial independence.

Dessie incorporates her extensive administrative knowledge into her role of providing operational and service support to portfolio managers, and acting as client liaison for ongoing relationships and client service matters. She holds FINRA Series 7 & 66 securities registrations, and insurance license with the state of Washington. She holds a BA in International Studies from the University of Washington. She is now a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™.

Dessie grew up in Bulgaria and moved to Seattle from her native country in 1991. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and cheering her kids on in their volleyball games and soccer matches.

How did your background lead to you working with TFS Advisors?

“I have worked all my life. Growing up on a farm in a rural town in Bulgaria, my first job was selling eggs at the local farmers market, and it taught me discipline and the value of money at a young age.

“When I came to the US at age 14, I worked at the library at Seattle Children’s Hospital on a work training program through school, earning $4 per hour. It was the only job I could do since I did not speak the language. All I knew was the alphabet, so I could put books back on the shelves.

“In high school, I started working at Bank of America as a teller. I earned an extra $1 per hour for speaking and interpreting Bulgarian and Russian for people who didn’t speak enough English to complete their transactions. That was how I initially got interested in working in the financial services industry.

“After that, when I was at the University of Washington, I started as a receptionist at a firm that offered life insurance and some investments. I enjoyed that immensely, and from there took a position assisting a financial advisor, whom I worked with for over 13 years, helping build his practice and getting my licenses in the process to lay the foundation for becoming an advisor myself.”
